China “Real Name” Blog Rule Relaxed
News - InternetA plan requiring bloggers in China to use their real names when posting on public web logs has been widely criticised by the internet industry leading to the Chinese governments ministry of information to move away from rigid enforcement to a model of “self-discipline”.
It will no longer be mandatory for Chinese bloggers to register their real names but the practice will certainly be encouraged in a bid to decrease the amount of 'harmful information' being circulated amongst China's 20 million blogs.
